About SPF DNS Records

Updated Monday, July 24, 2023

AgentWebsite email services automatically include an SPF record for optimal outbound email deliverability.

If you use a third-party mail provider, they may recommend that you add an SPF record to your domain. If you need help with this, please send your SPF record to support. We will be happy to add it to your domain.

About SPF DNS Records

An SPF (Sender Policy Framework) record is an email authentication standard that helps protect senders and recipients from spam, spoofing, and phishing. SPF records are a type of TXT record in your DNS zone file.

They identify which mail servers are permitted to send email on behalf of your domain. By adding an SPF record to your Domain Name System (DNS), you can provide a public list of senders that are approved to send email from your domain.

The goal of SPF records is to reduce the amount of spam and fraud by making it harder for malicious senders to disguise their identity. Receiving servers check your SPF record to verify that incoming messages that appear to be from your organization are sent from servers allowed by you.
